Robockey 2015

AUTONOMOUS HOCKEY PLAYING ROBOT

AWARD: 3rd Place out of 33 teams in ROBOCKEY Tournament https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_ysf2tYwg4

Robockey is the final project for MEAM 510 Design of Mechatronic Systems in which three  robots played hockey automonously into a 3 vs 3 tournament.

My main role is mechanical design, manfucaturing, and testing StormBreakers through crash test, vibration and tolerance analysis in real competition environment. I also contributed to part of electrical design and programming.

The Challenge

I fabricated prototypes through laser cutting, 3D printing and machining. After caculation, robotness test, and simulate competitions with other teams, I iterative designed and fabricated prototypes. From the whole process, I was adaptive to the fast-pace working environment and enjoyed solving-problems process!

All students were grouped into small teams, we designed, fabricated, wired and programmed a team of robots to play hockey autonomously. Three design priorities are taken in my team: robustness, speed, and sensativity to LEDs.
